Hospice of Haines would like to thank the community for participating in our January and February Taking Care winter series hosted by Hospice of Haines. We appreciate the opportunity to provide educational workshops and events to the Chilkat Valley related to aging-in-place, death and dying. It isn’t easy to talk about end-of-life issues, and we are thankful you came to learn and share. We also thank all the facilitators who presented on a variety of topics from QiGong to Gentle Hand Massage, Hearing Loss to Navigating Cancer, Forest Healing to Tidbits on Aging from Traditional Chinese Medicine: Marilyn Harrold, Janine Allen with SAIL, Rene Morrissey, Aimee Creelman, Cari O’Daniel with HAL, Susan Weerasinghe, and Laurie Dadourian. We certainly appreciate the organizations that hosted our workshops and collaborated with us to share what resources Haines has to offer: Southeast Alaska Independent Living (SAIL), Cornerstone, Haines Assisted Living (HAL), Senior Center, Senior Village, and the Chilkat Center. All of this was graciously made possible by a grant from the Chilkat Valley Community Foundation, an Affiliate of The Alaska Community Foundation. With great thanks,
Shannon McPhetres, Hospice of Haines, Director and Volunteer Coordinator
