OpenAI has called off a controversial effort to change which entity controls its juggernaut artificial intelligence business. The move effectively leaves power over CEO Sam Altman’s future in the hands of the same body that briefly ousted him in 2023.The company started work on a change to its business structure after Altman’s surprise firing and reinstatement. Altman had championed the move, while his rival, estranged co-founder Elon Musk, had tried to block it in court.
