Alexis Johnson, 30, was killed by her roommate in her home on Myrtle Greens Drive around 3 a.m. on May 27, Willard said in an email.

Horry County Police officers responded to a disturbance reported by a neighbor, according to an incident report.

The neighbor reported that Johnson and another individual had been involved in an altercation earlier in the day, the report added.

The neighbor said she heard gunshots before calling the police, the report continued.

Officers investigated the scene and found Johnson and the suspect dead on the scene.

The suspectโ€™s name has not yet been released.

Horry County Police Department is investigating the incident.
