Four young adults died in a car accident that occurred on Provincial Road 110, connecting Lizzano and Faggiano in the Tarantino region of Italy. The victims, two 23 and 19-year-old males, and two underage females, were traveling in a Fiat Idea.
The car veered off the road, overturned, and crashed into a tree near the Enel power plant in Lizzano. The cause of the accident is under investigation. Emergency responders, including firefighters, and police were dispatched to the scene.
Two of the victims were ejected from the vehicle upon impact, while the other two had to be extricated from the wreckage. The four, all residents of nearby towns, were pronounced dead at the scene. The Carabinieri in Manduria are investigating the incident under the direction of the public prosecutor in Taranto.
Quattro giovani sono morti in un incidente stadale avvenuto la notte scorsa sulla provinciale 110 che collega Lizzano a Faggiano, nel Tarantino. Si tratta, a quanto si è appreso, di due ragazzi di 23 e 19 anni e due ragazze minorenni.
Le vittime viaggiavano a bordo di una Fiat Idea che, per cause in corso di accertamento, è finita fuori strada ribaltandosi per poi schiantarsi contro un albero, all'uscita di una curva. L'incidente si è verificato nei pressi della centrale Enel di Lizzano. Sul posto i sanitari del 118, i vigili del fuoco, i carabinieri e la polizia stradale.
L'allarme è stato dato da alcuni automobilisti. I quattro giovani, originari di Torricella, Sava e Manduria, sarebbero morti sul colpo. Due delle vittime, dopo il violento impatto, sono state sbalzate fuori dall'abitacolo, mentre le altre due sono state estratte dalle lamiere della vettura dai vigili del fuoco. Gli accertamenti sulla dinamica sono affidati ai carabinieri della Compagnia di Manduria, coordinati dal pubblico ministero di turno di Taranto.
