A Cranberry Township woman is accused of stabbing a woman in the arm with the blade of a Ninja blender.

Shaily S. Agrate, 24, was charged with felony aggravated assault following the Thursday, May 1 incident.

Police said they arrived to a home on Trenton Court to find a woman bleeding heavily from a laceration on her left forearm. The woman said she got into a verbal altercation with Agrate before she was struck with the blade.

The woman was transported to Allegheny General Hospital for an “arterial bleed.”

Police spoke with Agrate who said the woman had been threatening to “fight her” during the verbal altercation, and she grabbed the blade to defend herself. Police said they did not observe any injuries on Agrate.

Police found the blade with blood on it and a large amount of blood throughout the residence and outside.

Agate is being held in Butler County Prison on a $25,000 bond. Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for 11 a.m. May 16 before District Judge Kevin Flaherty.
