According to a post on the department’s Facebook page, a Tiki Boat that appears to have a bar on it broke loose into the Atlantic Ocean.
“Not your typical beach day! Ocean Rescue on the scene after a Tiki Boat broke loose and washed ashore when its tow strap snapped,” the post said.
This isn’t the first time something unusual has broken off into the ocean in Myrtle Beach. Some commenters on the fire department’s post mentioned a red Jeep, which previously went viral for getting stuck on the beach after a hurricane in 2019.
