Renowned Italian film director Nanni Moretti was hospitalized in Rome after experiencing a heart attack. He is 71 years old and currently under observation at the San Camilo hospital.
While his prognosis is reserved, reports indicate Moretti is conscious, in good humor, and communicating with medical staff. Despite a successful initial night, he remains in the ICU.
This is not Moretti's first heart issue; he previously suffered a heart attack in October 2023 and underwent treatment at a different Roman hospital.
Moretti has a history of health challenges. He overcame Hodgkin's lymphoma in the 1990s and had a tumor removed in 2017.
His recent hospitalization led to the cancellation of a planned appearance at his own cinema, Nuovo Sacher, where he was scheduled to inaugurate a film cycle.
