Un inventor inconformista, Allie Fox, que decide alejarse del american way of life, para vivir junto a su familia en la selva de Centroamérica.
En ese filme, Ford, compartió roles con Helen Mirren y el joven River Phoenix. De hecho, tras conocerlo en este film, lo recomendó a Steven Spielberg para que interpretara al joven Indiana Jones.
Pero la película tuvo muy mala crítica. Además, fue un fiasco de taquilla, recaudando solo 14 millones de dólares con un presupuesto de 25 millones.
Harrison Ford en La Costa de los Mosquitos Por ello, es que Ford habla poco sobre el tema, pero cuando lo hace, defiende La costa de los mosquitos. “Esta no es una película pre-vendida -dijo el actor a UPI-. No es una película de género fácil de identificar, una que la gente pueda ver como si decidiera comer comida china o italiana”.
“Nunca he visto una película seria tan maltratada por los críticos”, dijo. “Y creo que se equivocan. No me importa decir que estoy aquí intentando contrarrestar esas críticas negativas”.
Asimismo, señaló que es una película que requiere ser procesada. “Es una obra muy compleja y ambiciosa, y me gustaría que la gente la viera. Me gustaría hacer todo lo posible para que eso suceda”.
