Flutter 2025 Roadmap

The Flutter team at Google released its 2025 roadmap, continuing a tradition of transparency started in 2020. The roadmap, available on GitHub, details plans to maintain Flutter's position as a leading multi-platform UI framework.

Key Goals

The core goal remains to make Flutter the most popular, fastest-growing, and highest-productivity multi-platform UI framework. While the roadmap primarily reflects the plans of Google employees working on Flutter, the team acknowledges and appreciates the significant contributions of the broader community.

Important Considerations

  • The roadmap is subject to change throughout the year.
  • The roadmap focuses on the efforts of Google employees; it doesn't encompass the contributions of the extensive non-Google community.

The team expresses gratitude to the community and anticipates continued support and exciting developments in the Flutter ecosystem.

Transparency is a core goal of the Flutter open source project, with everything from issues to design specifications being shared in the open. One of the most highly requested pieces of information is the yearly roadmap for the core Flutter team at Google, and today we’re happy to share the 2025 roadmap.

We’ve been publishing our roadmaps since 2020, and this is a natural continuation of previous years’ work; we’re still working towards our long-term goal of creating the most popular, fastest growing, and highest-productivity multi-platform UI framework for building rich app experiences!

For all the details, check out the freshly updated Flutter roadmap on GitHub.

As with any other software product roadmap, note that plans tend to shift and adapt throughout the year, so don’t be surprised if some changes happen along the way. But we still feel it’s important to share our overall plans.

Also note that what we’re listing here is primarily content gathered from those of us who work on Flutter as employees of Google. By now non-Google contributors outnumber those employed by Google, so this is not an exhaustive list of all the new and exciting things that we hope will come to Flutter this year!

We remain greatly thankful for the community and your continued support. We can’t wait to see what you’ll build!
