An inquest into the death of the retired civil engineer, from Beech Rise in Bradwell, near Great Yarmouth, has been opened at Norfolk Coroner’s Court.

It heard how a post mortem report from consultant histopathologist Professor Richard Ball gave the 80-year-old's medical cause of death as acute hemopericardium due to a heart attack.

While the details of which hospital he was being taken to – and where from – have not been revealed, the court heard that statements are required from both the James Paget and Norfolk and Norwich hospitals.
