Skokie’s Bright Future

The campaign for Skokie’s 4th District Village Trustee has officially concluded, and while the result was incredibly close—just nine votes—I extend my sincere congratulations to my friend and opponent, Jim Iverson, on his victory.

Jim ran a campaign marked by integrity, hard work and a deep love for our village. I am confident he will bring that same spirit to the Village Board, and I’m proud to support him as both a constituent and a friend.

During the campaign, Jim and I developed a rare and meaningful friendship. We stood beside each other at events, volunteered together, and approached the race with mutual respect and collaboration. In today’s political climate, that kind of camaraderie is something to be celebrated.

To everyone who supported me, volunteered, or cast a vote in this election—thank you. Your dedication and belief in a better Skokie have been truly humbling. While we didn’t achieve the result we hoped for, our shared commitment to civic engagement and community progress remains strong.

Skokie is a village defined by its people—neighbors who care, who show up, and who strive to make our community better. Let’s continue that work together, across differences and beyond elections.

Thank you, Skokie. And thank you, Jim, for your friendship and your commitment to our village. The future is bright.

Edward H. Olivieri
