It actually is a good game now in my opinion. Doa5 was a great game, with a questionable budget. (I wish Donovan was a boss) Doa6 disappointed alot of competitive players. As well as casuals, which shocked me. I played it once when it went on sale. I felt extremely distraught, fatigued, and poisoned.
I really hope they can make amends with Itagaki-san. Because the 6th entry felt like a major step backwards. (In terms of the mechanics & fan service.) Even a developer mentioned they didn't have the budget they needed. During a interview he struggled to answer why people should buy the game. This clearly was a just a job to them.
Did Hayashi disappear? If you didn't know they pimped the doax3 players. Removed jet ski, only added 9 women, also removed two Islands. They announced Venus Vacation a few months later. Dropped support for Doax3. Venus Vacation has been a huge success for the company. A gacha dating, gift giving game?
I've read this pc game has three times the player base. Compared to Doa5 & Doa6, even Frank mentioned this on his app. Venus Vacation Prism was recently announced. There is no volleyball and according to the leaks. The main character Kasumi is not in this. Honoka & Marie are rumored to be more popular.
At the end of the day I hope there will be another Ninja Gaiden. It's been an entire decade already. Hayate as a ally is long overdue. As for Doa there is a rumor Koei has complete control over Team Ninja. Including the budget and engine they use. Lastly I was sad to see Tomonobu Itagaki Twitter is gone. (He is the last hope to save these ips.)
