Key Finding: Myrtle Beach's Affordability

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, has been named one of the most affordable beach towns in the United States, ranking number 4 on House Beautiful magazine's list. The average home price is $300,720.

Affordability Compared to Other Locations

This price point is significantly lower than many other beach towns, particularly those on the magazine's list dominated by Florida cities. Atlantic City, New Jersey, took the top spot with an average home price of $215,336.

Attracting New Residents

Myrtle Beach's affordability is a major factor drawing people from states like New Jersey, New York, and Florida. Many cite cheaper home prices as the main reason for relocating.

Location Considerations

While this price may not secure an oceanfront property (those average between $400,000 and $1 million), the Grand Strand's 60 miles of beaches offer numerous properties within easy reach of several great beaches.
