Poole Harbour Commissioners (PHC) is supporting a project led by Lyte Drive Ltd. to develop low-emission propulsion systems for coastal and harbor environments. The initiative involves a collaboration with Aquagem Marine Innovation Ltd and Plymouth University, and is funded by Innovate UK.
The project aims to contribute to the Decarbonisation Plan for the Port of Poole Maritime Industrial Cluster, targeting a 40% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2035 and net-zero emissions by 2050. A key aspect is a feasibility study to convert PHC's existing vessels to electric propulsion.
The project partners include Lyte Drive Ltd, Poole Harbour Commissioners (PHC), Aquagem Marine Innovation Ltd, and Plymouth University. Funding is provided by the Innovate UK Marine and Maritime Launchpad programme.
