“This is for our amazing community! Honestly we have received calls, txts and so many messages of support,” she wrote on Facebook.
“Like most Rural families we are resilient, proud and strong but this has brought us to our knees like no drought ever could. This vigil is a way of our family acknowledging Pheobe’s impact on our Community, their efforts and the importance of a community that cares!
“While we don’t have Phee Home to put to rest just yet, our community needs the healing process to start.”
Police had been searching for Pheobe since May 15, when she failed to check in for a flight at Bundaberg Airport.
Investigators said they were still seeking information about the movements of a grey Hyundai ix35 between May 15 to 18 in the area surrounding Gin Gin.
Wood and Bromley had allegedly been the last people to see Pheobe, before she was due to catch a flight from Bundaberg Airport to Western Australia to visit her boyfriend.
Police said she never checked in for her flight, prompting a widescale search of the Good Night Scrub area, involving police divers, the SES, and the dog squad.
The search of the bushland was suspended on May 28 but her family and police continued to appeal for information.
“This is a pain no person or family should ever have to experience,” Pheobe’s mother said in a video last weekend.
“I know that this investigation isn’t over ... it will not be over for me until we find Pheobe.”
Earlier this week, Wood was taken into custody. However, he was later released without charge.
But on Thursday night, both were arrested and charged with murder and interfering with a corpse. They were due to appear at Bundaberg Magistrates Court on Friday and will return to court on August 11.
On Friday, Queensland Premier David Crisafulli thanked the police for their work on the investigation.
“When something like this happens in a tight-knit community, it cuts deep, and there is no doubt that community would be feeling it this morning,” he told 4BC.
