PITTSFIELD — Prosecutors have asked a judge to hold a Pittsfield man without bail for allegedly entering his neighbors' home and assaulting him.

Mikey Bliss, 35, allegedly entered the Lakewood Drive home through the front door on June 3, rifled through the man's pockets, then struck him with an unidentified object, knocking him out, according to a police report.

The victim, who had a laceration above his eye, was transported to Berkshire Medical Center, where he was treated for a fractured skull. He told police Bliss had previously attempted to steal his disability money.

Police did not find Bliss when they went to his residence, also on Lakewood Drive. After obtaining a warrant, they arrested him shortly before 6 p.m. Friday, according to police dispatch logs.

He pleaded not guilty in Central Berkshire District Court on Tuesday to a single felony charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury. He was ordered held without the right to bail pending a dangerousness hearing scheduled for Thursday.
