Rocketman Lawson top scored as Poole beat the Bears at Wimborne Road on Wednesday night, backing up an excellent victory at Glasgow the previous Friday.

It had been an inconsistent start to the season as the Pirates looked to defend their BSN Series, KO Cup and Championship titles from 2024.

They scraped through to the semifinals of the BSN Series as best runners up after some unconvincing showings against Oxford and Plymouth saw them finish second in the South Group.

But since, they overturned an eight-point first leg deficit in the cup to progress to the final four, and they are top of the league table after five meetings.

β€œTo do what we've done in the last two matches, it sets the marker and we've got to keep that going.

β€œI feel like it's always harder to back titles up, but I think we're looking good now.”
