Vibrant Villages Programme Phase 2

The Indian Cabinet has approved the second phase of the Vibrant Villages Programme (VVP) with a budget of Rs 7,000 crore (approximately $850 million USD) allocated for the next five years. This initiative aims to improve infrastructure and generate livelihood opportunities in villages situated along the borders with Bangladesh, Myanmar, Pakistan, Nepal, and Bhutan.

Key Objectives

The primary goal is to enhance the prosperity and security of these border regions. The program focuses on improving the quality of life in these villages, thereby strengthening the border areas.

Scope

The VVP Phase 2 will cover a total of 1,954 villages located near the specified international borders.
