The Dundee branch of the Tailend fish and chip shop, run by Darren and Jess Spink, will close on April 27th, 2025 after almost nine years of operation. The closure follows a successful run, with the owners expressing gratitude to their staff and customers.

New Ownership

Mother Hubbard's, a fish and chip chain with locations in Glasgow and Edinburgh, will take over the Dundee location and reopen it in May.

Owners' Future Plans

Darren and Jess Spink will focus on their remaining St Andrews location, planning to expand the dining space there. They are also developing a new venue in their hometown of Arbroath, offering breakfast, lunch, small plates, tapas, wine nights, and private dining, alongside fresh and smoked seafood and deli items.
