A recent report by the Polish Association of Application Partners (PZPA), conducted in collaboration with Dr. hab. Dominika Polkowska from UMCS, indicates that up to 72% of drivers and couriers would quit their jobs if compelled to become full-time employees under the upcoming EU platform directive. The survey involved approximately 3800 app-based taxi and courier drivers.
The PZPA questions the methodology of the survey and believes that platform workers would benefit more than they would lose from the directive's implementation. The association is advocating for broader discussions before the directive's implementation in Poland, which is scheduled for December 2, 2026. The report highlights concerns and uncertainties surrounding the new regulations among gig workers.
