The 2025 Canadian election resulted in a Liberal victory, led by Mark Carney. However, the final results are still pending, with several close races still underway. With 168 Liberal candidates elected or leading, they need just four more seats to obtain a majority. Several tight races remain undecided, most notably in Terrebonne, Quebec.
Elections Canada cited a high voter turnout, particularly in advance and special ballot voting, as the reason for delays. While initial vote counts took place on election night, some ballot boxes remained uncounted into Tuesday morning. The process will include a judicial recount if necessary.
The Conservative Party came in second with 144 seats, followed by the Bloc Québécois with 23, the NDP with 7, and the Green Party with 1.
