During a presentation of Chile's Public Finance Report (IFP) to Congress by the Minister of Finance and the Director of Budget, a significant error occurred. The presentation projected differed from the document received by parliamentarians, leading to confusion and disruption.
Senator Ximena Rincón, president of the Finance Committee, immediately pointed out the discrepancy, noting the projected presentation wasn't identical to the one provided to legislators. The Director of Budget attributed the error to a possible outdated version being sent to the tablet due to late arrival. Senator Juan Antonio Coloma also highlighted inconsistencies in the data presented. Senator Rincón further emphasized the incompleteness of the final version received.
Minister of Finance Mario Marcel apologized for the technical issues, stating that different versions were being updated and that errors unfortunately occurred. The government subsequently sent the correct version of the report.
