President Trump is expected to lessen the impact of his automotive tariffs. This will prevent the addition of tariffs on foreign-made cars to existing tariffs and reduce levies on imported auto parts used in U.S. manufacturing.
Automakers will avoid paying additional duties such as those on steel and aluminum, alongside the automotive tariffs. This measure will apply retroactively, allowing reimbursements for already paid tariffs.
The 25% tariff on foreign-made cars began early this month.
