The Brazilian government recently increased the income limit for the Minha Casa Minha Vida (My Home My Life) program to R$12,000 per month. This expands eligibility to more families, previously capped at R$8,000.
The expansion is funded by incorporating the Social Fund of the Pre-Salt (Fundo Social do Pré-Sal) into the program's budget. It is estimated that this change will benefit 120,000 Brazilians.
Beneficiaries can purchase homes valued up to R$500,000, with financing options extending to 420 months (20 years) and an annual interest rate of 10.5%.
Minister of Cities, Jader Filho, stated that the expansion aims to serve more Brazilians and benefit the middle class, highlighting the government's work in facilitating homeownership.
