Mallappa Channaveerappa Managuli, a Janata Dal Secular (JD(S)) MLA and former minister, passed away at 85 in a Bengaluru hospital on Thursday, January 28, 2021.
Mr. Managuli had served multiple terms as MLA representing Sindagi constituency in Vijayapura, Karnataka, under various party banners, including Janata Party and JD(S). He was a prominent JD(S) MLA from north Karnataka in the 2018 assembly elections.
He was known for his close relationship with JD(S) leader H.D. Deve Gowda. He was also respected for his soft-spoken demeanor and avoidance of controversies.
During his career, he held ministerial portfolios such as Rural Development and Horticulture. He is credited with a significant role in establishing a government horticulture college in Alamel, Vijayapura district.
He is survived by his wife, four sons, and a daughter.
