Deletion of Security Footage

Security footage from the Palau de la Generalitat on the day of the DANA storm, which caused significant damage and loss of life, was deleted by the Valencian government 15 days after the event, citing data protection law (article 8 of Law 4/1997). However, footage from the Cecopi in L'Eliana was preserved and released later.

Political Reactions

The deletion of the Palau footage has drawn criticism from opposition parties PSPV-PSOE and Comprom铆s, who requested copies of the recordings. They accuse the regional president, Carlos Maz贸n, of destroying evidence.

Joan Baldov铆 (Comprom铆s) compared the situation to the Valencia metro accident in 2006 where similar events occurred. Jos茅 Mu帽oz (PSPV-PSOE) accused Maz贸n of destroying evidence.

Maz贸n's Actions

The deleted footage covered the time between 2 PM and 8:28 PM. Maz贸n's whereabouts during this period remain unclear, although it is known he had lunch with a journalist from 3 PM to 5:45 PM. The government released footage of Maz贸n's arrival at the Cecopi at 8:28 PM, although he claimed to have arrived after 7 PM. A judge in Catarroja is investigating the events of that day.
