Key Dates and Procedures

Successful candidates from Extremadura's extraordinary general administration opposition are being called to choose their job placements on April 28th and 30th at the Jesús Delgado Valhondo Public Library in Mérida. The process is detailed in the DOE (Diario Oficial de Extremadura). Those who passed through the concurso-oposición (competitive examination) process, except for specific categories (forestry firefighters, early childhood education technicians, ATE-caregivers, and sign language interpreters) will participate. Candidates will be called up to three times; if they fail to respond they will be placed at the end of the list.

Exemptions and Exceptions

Several categories are not included in this call including those who have already chosen their placement (concurso-oposición and merit-based) and those in categories with only one vacancy. The schedule is divided by category and time slot.

  • April 28th: various groups, including healthcare professionals, administrative staff and auxiliar staff.
  • April 30th: remaining groups.

Around 200 out of 3,193 initial candidates are expected to participate.

Complaints and Concerns

The process has faced criticism. Some candidates, especially those successful via merit-based concurso, are still waiting for their placement. The decision to allow candidates already holding a position to take another and then go on leave has sparked controversy; critics argue that this approach prevents effective reduction of temporary positions.
