Shandong Linglong Tire Co. Ltd. is investing $640 million to upgrade and expand its tire plant in Zrenjanin, Serbia. The project aims to enhance competitiveness and broaden the product mix.

Expansion Plans

The expansion will increase production capacity by 1.1 million radial tires annually, including:

  • 800,000 truck/bus tires
  • 50,000 industrial/engineering tires
  • 150,000 agricultural tires

Additionally, the plant will gain capacity for 100,000 truck tire retreads and 6,000 metric tons of liquid recycled rubber annually.

Renewable Energy Integration

A photovoltaic power generation station will be installed, producing an average of 29.4 million kWh of electricity per year.

Projected Outcomes

Upon completion in 2030, Linglong projects an average annual operating income of $275 million from the Serbian facility. The investment is expected to provide significant industrial, technological, and product advantages, enhancing competitiveness and market share.

Timeline

Construction is scheduled to begin in January 2025.
