This trend continued throughout the first quarter, with Málaga registering nearly double the number of new companies compared to Seville.
While there was a slight overall decrease in business creation in Andalusia during the first quarter of 2025 compared to 2024, Málaga's decline was less severe (3%) than Andalusia (8%) or Seville (16%).
In the first quarter of 2025, Málaga saw the creation of 1898 businesses, representing 38% of the Andalusian total. This is nearly double the number in Seville (1070).
During 2024, Málaga also led with business creation, creating almost 40% of Andalusia’s new businesses.
The most active sectors in Málaga's new business creation were real estate and hospitality, showing strong growth.
