Varun Beverages Ltd., the Indian bottler for PepsiCo, is constructing a new plant in Mendipathar, Garo Hills, Meghalaya. This will be the second and largest Pepsi facility in Northeast India.
The plant is anticipated to generate significant employment within the Garo Hills region, boosting the local economy. The project's positive effects on employment and livelihoods were highlighted by Meghalaya Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) Chairman James Sangma.
The MIDC is actively collaborating with Varun Beverages to ensure the project's timely completion and smooth execution. Discussions between MIDC and Varun Beverages focused on strategies to facilitate a successful launch of the plant's first phase.
