Sweden's Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson appointed Tobias Thyberg as the new national security advisor on Thursday. However, following questions from Dagens Nyheter (DN) regarding images of Thyberg, he resigned immediately.
Prime Minister Kristersson described the situation as a systemic failure, stating that the information about the images should have been revealed earlier.
The abrupt resignation highlights a significant lapse in the vetting process for high-level government appointments.
