Key Criticism

Anbumani Ramadoss, president of the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK), criticized the Tamil Nadu state government for its failure to timely complete the recruitment process for secondary-grade and graduate teachers in government schools.

Recruitment Delays

The Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB) conducted an exam on February 4th, 2024, to fill 3,192 graduate teacher posts. Results were released on May 18th, but appointment orders are still pending. For 2,768 secondary-grade teacher posts, the answer keys haven't been released even three months after the exam, further delaying the process.

Impact on Students

Mr. Ramadoss highlighted the negative impact of these delays on students, particularly those from disadvantaged socioeconomic backgrounds who rely on government schools for education. He urged the state government to expedite the recruitment process to ensure quality education.
