A Russian missile attack on the Ukrainian city of Sumy resulted in at least 35 deaths and over 100 injuries. The attack targeted the city center, near a church, on Palm Sunday.
Donald Trump, in posts on Truth Social, blamed both President Biden and President Zelensky for the war, stating that it was "Biden's war, not mine." He claimed that Zelensky and Biden "did an absolutely horrible job in allowing this farce to begin."
President Biden previously stated that he was informed Russia made a mistake in the attack, calling it "terrible" but offering no further details. He reiterated his stance that he would have prevented the war if he were still president.
Among the casualties, two children aged 11 and 17 were killed. A Ukrainian military commander, Yuri Yula, was also confirmed dead. Ukrainian authorities have denounced the attack as an act of terrorism and called for stronger measures against Russia.
The Russian Ministry of Defence claims the attack targeted a gathering of Ukrainian military command, asserting over 60 Ukrainian military personnel were killed.
