A forensic report commissioned by Judge Leopoldo Puente confirms that the handwriting on notes related to alleged illegal public works contracts belongs to Koldo García, former advisor to ex-minister José Luis Ábalos. The expert, María Eugenia Pérez Matey, identified characteristic writing traits matching García's known handwriting.
The notes, provided by businessman Víctor de Aldama, reference alleged contracts awarded in exchange for bribes during Ábalos' time as Minister of Transport. Aldama claims the contracts involved at least 10 construction companies and 96 public works projects.
While the initial investigation focused on irregularities in mask procurement during the COVID-19 pandemic, Aldama's evidence suggests a wider corruption scheme potentially involving ministers from both the PSOE and PP parties across different administrations. However, a separate report by current Transport Minister Óscar Puente found no irregularities in the investigated contracts.
The expert acknowledges that she only examined copies of the documents, not originals, and reserves the right to revise her conclusions if originals become available.
