Widow's Accusations

Edyta Skotarczak, widow of "Nikoś" Skotarczak, accuses Karol Nawrocki, a presidential candidate, of manipulating facts and including falsehoods in his book, "Spowiedź Nikosia zza grobu", published under the pseudonym Tadeusz Batyr. She details her unsuccessful attempts to contact Batyr and highlights instances where Nawrocki's narrative is inaccurate and invades her privacy.

Investigation of Batyr

Skotarczak recounts her own investigation into the identity of Tadeusz Batyr after the book's release. Her attempts to contact him were unsuccessful, further fueling her suspicion that the author hid behind a pseudonym. She eventually contacted Nawrocki directly on Messenger, only to receive no response.

Falsehoods in the Biography

Skotarczak points out several alleged inaccuracies and invented details concerning her life before her marriage to Nikodem Skotarczak. She argues that these details, along with others of a private nature, are included without her consent and constitute a violation of her privacy. Specific examples include false accounts of her meeting Nikodem and her financial circumstances. Further, the book mentions her alleged miscarriage in 1992 and her supposed carrying of a pistol in her purse—both of which she denies.

Nawrocki's Justification

Nawrocki justified the use of a pseudonym by citing concerns about his employment at the time and a desire to avoid associating the Museum of the Second World War with his research into organized crime. Skotarczak, however, believes he concealed his identity due to fear stemming from his interactions with a UOP (Urząd Ochrony Państwa) officer.

Potential Legal Action

Skotarczak is considering legal action against Nawrocki unless he apologizes and removes the disputed content from the book. Her lawyers are currently assessing the situation.
