Ewa Lyczewska, Oakton College’s communications manager, said Oakton leadership monitored the situation and remained in communication with local authorities. Students in the Early Childhood Education Center remained safely indoors throughout the incident, she said in an email to Pioneer Press.

Lincoln Middle School is adjacent to the block where police responded, but representatives of Skokie-Morton Grove School District 69 did not respond to a request for comment.
