Retirement of Long-Time Owners

Arno and Andrea Henninger, who ran the Bräustüberl in Schönram for 19 years, are retiring at the end of October 2025. They express mixed emotions, looking forward to retirement but also missing the interactions with guests and staff.

Temporary Closure and Planned Changes

The brewery, Bräustüberl Schönram, will be closed for five months, starting November 2025, for renovations to the kitchen, toilets, and energy efficiency upgrades. The brewery plans to reopen in April 2026 under new management. Brewery owner Alfred Oberlindober is currently searching for a successor.

New Concept for the Biergarten

Significant changes are planned for the beer garden. Self-service will be introduced, limiting the menu to snacks, and allowing customers to bring their food. Drinks will still be served by waiters.

Future Plans

If finding a new tenant proves difficult, the brewery might operate the Bräustüberl themselves with a partner. They aim to attract more visitors (10,000 annually) through brewery tours and continue providing traditional Bavarian and Swabian cuisine.
